Silicon carbon alloy is a new type of alloy used in converters, generally called silicon carbon alloy, or high carbon silicon. It can replace ferrosilicon, silicon carbide and recarburizer, reduce the amount of deoxidizer, and be used in converter smelting deoxidization alloying process with stable effect. The chemical composition, mechanical properties and internal control quality of steel are better than traditional processes. Its characteristics: improve the quality of molten steel, improve the quality of products, improve the new energy of products, reduce the amount of alloy added, reduce the cost of steelmaking, and increase economic benefits.

For a long time, the alloys used in converters have not been adjusted. The traditional alloys have a relatively simple structure, that is, Q195 and Q235 steels use Mnsi+FeSi+SiAiCaBa+Sic+carburizer process, HRB335 and HRB400 steels use MnSi+Fesi+AiSi+ Carbon production process. For traditional silicon-manganese alloys, ferrosilicon resources are increasingly tight, and the market price has been rising, which has gradually increased the cost of converter steelmaking and reduced the profit margin of steel. Moreover, the recovery rate of traditional alloys is greatly affected by the operation of the converter. The end point temperature and the amount of slag drop make the alloy composition in the finished product fluctuate greatly. As a result, the chemical composition of the smelted steel is unstable, and the qualified rate of the internal control indicators of the finished product is low.
